Summary

Do you have a family that is always there for you?

Do you understand that blood is always thicker than water?

Are you prepared to do whatever it takes for your family?

Family is the one thing you can rely on when the chips are down and you need help. When so-called friends and colleagues desert you in your hour of need, it is family that will likely be there to help you put the pieces back together again. Maintaining a close and loving relationship with your family members is crucial for so many reasons, so it’s vitally important that you work on it as hard as possible.

This book, The Eternal Pain, gives a deep insight into why our families are so important to us and how we can work to keep those strong bonds and make them even stronger, with chapters devoted to:

  • Nurturing your family bond to ensure enduring strength
  • Supporting your family through thick and thin
  • Offering sympathy and help during times of grief
  • How adversity can affect a family
  • The uniqueness of sibling bonds
  • Relationships between partners
  • The pain experienced by loss of a loved one
  • And much more…

Our families contain some of the most important people in our lives, and we generally do all we can to make sure they are safe and happy as much as possible.

Interlaced with short stories that accompany each chapter, The Eternal Pain is a book that examines the different relationships within families and how we interact with one another at times of great stress and difficulty.

It is the perfect book for anyone who loves their family and would make a fabulous gift for a relative or loved one!

Style of writing

I really like this book, although I'm not sure why it captivated and enthralled me so much, given that it is the narrative of one man's youth and ultimately his family's death. It's the unique way of expressing and describing the most fundamental of operations.

but otherwise a good read with relevant research

Before getting to the code, the author beats the points to death, but otherwise it's an excellent read with useful information. If the "code" works as stated, it will change everyone's life. I'm now utilising it, and I'm seeing instant effects.

Life-Changing for me

This book had a significant impact on my life. For the most of my adult life, I've battled depression and codependency. I haven't been sad or struggled with codependent "desperation" in the three days since I started the code. I'm still on the fence about whether it's too good to be true. It's been six weeks, and I've had my melancholy ups and downs, but they've been situational rather than the gloomy cloud that had loomed over me for years. My relationship was saved by resolving my codependency, and my life has drastically changed for the better. Because it's difficult to describe the notion to others, I've been giving the book to friends and family. That's how fantastic it is!

A moving, very personal and open account of the d

An exceptionally candid and honest description of the author's father's death, as well as the thoughts, feelings, and memories that it prompted. The scene was filmed against a backdrop of Norwegian countryside and a tiny village. It provoked tremendous emotions in me as the author recounted and dealt with his own personal struggles and familial issues. This was life and death in slow motion in many respects, but it left a dramatic, memorable path.

A story of such painful adolescence and family st

The densely packed writing style prompted the reader to immerse themselves in the storey and follow the lad from childhood to adulthood. A gripping narrative that demanded the reader's whole devotion.
This is a narrative about a difficult youth and familial turmoil. It should have been too depressing to read, but it was just impossible to put down.
I loved how personal the writing was, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Nostalgic detail

I can see how this may become a really addictive read. It's excellent. Very engrossing. But why is that? Is there something like to Big Brother going on here? I'll continue reading since I've loved it so far and want to see how K O's life unfolds. Nonetheless, it feels more like a mix of therapy and nostalgia than literature to me.
In any case, it's highly recommended!

Nordic Struggle

Knausgard is not a modern-day Proust, based on this first book of "My Struggle." In his observations, he is quite bright and wide-ranging, yet he lacks depth and, most importantly, beautiful humour. The precise description of ordinary events, on the other hand, is mesmerising, and he is as self-critical and self-agrandizing as Rousseau's Confessions. I'm sure I'll read everything!

Wonderful. Before I completed this one, I placed an order for the next in the series. The finest book I've read in a long time. Knausgaard frequently emphasises details with lovely descriptions, yet it never seems distracting or interrupts the story's flow.

A different approach to healing

I was hesitant at first, but the book piqued my curiosity. It took a long time for me to figure out how to use the healing code, and I was getting frustrated! However, after only a few days of using the healing code, I saw a significant shift in my life. I'm not sure how this works in practise, but the results are fantastic!

Definitely recommend!

Last year, I suffered many attacks of strep throat as a teacher. Every time I've been ill this school year, I've done some healing codes and woke up the next day with no discomfort in my throat and clear sinuses. Strongly suggested!
