An inspired imaginative, puzzle-piece novel!Crazy in it's complexity but easy to follow the many well-drawn characters.

finally some answers. the holistic picture Dan paints of the universe, the web, the core and the time tombs is as fantastic as it is plausible. loved the way the story unfolds. makes you think about existence!

Hyperion, the first book in a series of four, is nothing short of perfect. Don’t anyone be put off by the publisher’s synopsis of the plot. There is a lot more to Dan Simmons’s space opera than you will ever imagine. The Fall of Hyperion is a continuation of the saga though the author has changed his narrative style somewhat, running the different storylines of existing and new characters in parallel rather than sequentially as heretofore. The twists, turns and mysteries introduced throughout the first book are further deepened and then resolved very satisfactorily.

Dan Simmons isn’t afraid to tackle very big subjects: religion; humanity; war; politics and more. He does so with great intelligence, knowledge and interest. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

An immensely satisfying conclusion to the wonderfully intriguing story halted abruptly at the end of Hyperion. Bevine's delivery is perfect. Although this book lacks the variety provided by the first novel's multiple readers, the single reader format works here.

A timeless sci-fi classic

Dan Simmons's book is a masterpiece of 'hard' science fiction, delving into many different topics that range from the protection of the environment to the nature of human soul. The narrator does a very good job in making every character unique, but he sometimes slips and carries on a character's tone one or two lines further than he should. While this for me makes the book lose the fifth star, the production is still fully enjoyable

It took a little while to get into it at first, but I'm so glad I carried on. Everything falls into place and the cathartic way in which the story beats are solved, then expanded upon further, is incredibly satisfying.

I listened to Hyperion before this and absolutely loved it, and I wasn't sure that a sequel would be able to live up to it. I was dead wrong, Fall of Hyperion is an incredible and interesting story, with great new and returning characters. The world building is still as amazing, as it was in the first book, this time fleshing out more of the worlds and politics of the World Web . Overall this is definitely worthy continuation of Hyperion. Though this audiobook doesn't have the multitude of narrators like the first, Victor Bevine does a stellar job bringing each character to life. Highly recommend.
