About this listen
Bah Humbug!
It’s almost Christmas and Bunny McGarry is not in the festive spirit. His mood is not improved when an old friend becomes the victim of a violent assault and, for reasons he can’t understand, the police force he is a member of has decided not to investigate. Getting to the bottom of the case ends up putting him on the wrong side of some powerful people. How does all of this involve an Italian heiress who has disappeared? Why is the commissioner of the Gardai no longer in charge? And why is a certain teenage boy on the rampage swearing bloody vengeance?
Strap in as things are about to get seriously festive and the big fella is taking no prisoners.
Some people have no appreciation of the fundamentals of the Christmas game.
The Family Jewels is book seven in the Amazon best-selling, critically acclaimed, and numerically infuriating Dublin Trilogy.

A Perfect Combo
Funny, thrilling touching. The Dublin Trilogy has everything, including an absolutely perfect performance by Morgan C. Jones. There is also the bizarre, but amazing bonus of four extra books in the ‘trilogy’. Sadly, I have now listened to them all, but look forward to hearing the further adventures of Bunny McGarry in NYC. Can’t wait.

Never stop writing these books
I will always love Bunny books but they have to have the same narrator, he is the star of the show!

Brilliant
As is usual from author Caihm McDonnell. We are on one of his Bunny’s fantastic trips. With beautifully written twists and turns. McDonnell’s humour finds the page, seemingly with ease, invoking my laughter. Relating to Bunny’s good hearted actions, and principles. Caihm McDonnell doesn’t stop working creatively well. Every book a winner. Imo’s.

Not his best. Still great.
As the title said, not his best book. It’s tough competition as all the others are beyond fault. As a fan, this was still great fun and engrossing due to the well developed characters and the outstanding delivery. I’d still buy it and listen to it, if advising another party, but only once totally immersed in the series and having listened to most of the others in the series. If the narrator gave up the game, half the charm and fun would disappear. What a bloody rock star he is.

Another fabulous episode of the Dublin Trilogy
Excellent story narrated impeccably by Morgan C Jones featuring the indomitable Bunny Mc Garry only minor downside is the author’s insistence on so many characters smoking then littering with discarded cigarette butts!

I am a terrible person because…
I started with the stranger times, about 3 months ago… to confuse matters slightly, these are written by C.K. McDonnell, Undeterred by this minor inconsistency , I have listened to almost everything Caimh has written. I almost finished, which is a terrible thing as honestly his work is just the most joyful, interesting and entertaining series I have listened to. Both narrators for the each series are outstanding and if you don’t find these books uplifting and hilarious, that’s sad for you, have a word with yourself! Listen to everything, you will be happier for the experience and I am sorry I have taken so long to write a review, frankly I was too busy listening. Mr McDonnell, please don’t stop emptying your head onto the page. It’s a tonic.

If you need my opinion then you’d be better off typing with both hands outside your underpants… 🙃
See above
And only there is a 15 word minimum I wouldn’t have bothered with this bit

Perfect pairing of Author & Narrator
I have loved each & every single book equally because that are all so wonderfully perfect & hugely entertaining & enjoyable & witty & fantastically narrated both my newest favourite Author & Narrator.. I am in love with the world’s they have created & the spell they have cast over me (even in the non supernatural offerings) if you enjoy Douglas Adams & Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman & their ilk you can not help but find yourself falling in love with this new universe of characters & their voices… So happy I found them & sure you will be too!

A Gem
Funny bone and heart strings get a good Bunny bashing in this book. All the intersecting storylines merge into what is family and how it influences us.
Deccie and his family, Paul and his lack of one and of course what bad parenting can produce. There is a backstory for the “Bunny and Paul rift “ touched on here and glad to say more of Butch who is a personal favourite of mine.
I love these stories and have only recently stepped by accident into this world. But, I have raced through them whilst suffering from a pretty bad virus. They have entertained and been a better medicine than any other.
