About this listen

'Next to impossible to put down . . . exciting, mysterious, and totally satisfying.'
STEPHEN KING

The islands of Prospera lie in a vast ocean: in splendid isolation from the rest of humanity, or whatever remains of it. . .

Surrounded by sun, and sea, and stars, their world is perfect. But every paradise comes at a price.

When the truth behind theirs is revealed, it will end a way of life, and start a revolution that will change the course of humanity itself.

And it will all begin with one person hearing these simple words:

"The world is not the world..."

incredible, blew me away

One of the best books I have ever read. reminiscent of 1984 . Gripping, intriguing and making me think about life and living. I will now read everything else Justin has written! Great performances too.

Lengthy sci fi exploration - could do with tightening up

I was initially very curious about where this story was going but there were many points that I felt it was never going to get wherever that was
I was almost disappointed by what I thought the final reveal
was, only to have that develop further unexpected layers.
However overall I felt this story needed to be significantly cropped or made into a series.

Fabulous

Loved it start to finish. Trouble is that all good books come to an end. Great concepts. I liked that at times I wondered which reality I was in. Kept me on my toes. Well written, well read, a superb yarn. Thank you to all involved.

worth listening but

It wasn't a bad book but nothing compared to the passage trilogy. It kept me guessing but probably just because it would have been hard to consider the ending. I didn't much like the characters or the ending, which for a story about moving on, didn't really have much progression. There are things that I enjoyed. the setting was great and the scenes were vivid. The half explanations at every turn could be annoying but definitely kept me guessing. I hope Justin's next book will be as gripping as the previous.

A great idea but not falls a bit short

I really wanted to like this more than I did…it has a dreamlike quality, that’s overly descriptive in places…whilst part of the whole concept, it makes it really hard to keep up with what’s going on.

I loved the premise of it, there were some really engaging parts - like when the reveal comes and the message about climate change was also great but overall I found that chapters flew past where I had no idea what was going on!

Narration was fantastic.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

Not what I was expecting having read the Passage. Gripping storyline. A little predictable in places, but this didn’t diminish the enjoyment.

Thought provoking and troubling at times.

The narration was excellent.

Very imaginative story

I thought the author really came up with a very imaginative and topical story. However, I thought Scott Brick was not right for this book. Listening became soporific when he was reading; he drones a bit and sounds like he is about to burst into tears. The book pobably needed tighter editing because it seems to drag in places. But overall, what a great achievement from one of my favourite authors.

The Feeryman

Good story which flagged a little towards the end.
Narration good, but I find Scott Brick’s voice a little sanctimonious at times.
