About this listen

Two of the world’s most popular and trusted pet care advocates reveal new science to teach us how to delay ageing and provide a long, happy, healthy life for our canine companions. The definitive, cutting-edge guide for every dog parent.

The #1 New York Times Bestseller and Sunday Times Bestseller

‘Everyone who lives with dogs needs to read this book’ ALEXANDRA HOROWITZ, author of Inside of a Dog and Our Dogs, Ourselves

Over the past few decades, many dogs have been getting sicker and dying prematurely. Why?

Rodney Habib and Dr Karen Shaw Becker have galvanized the best wisdom from top geneticists, microbiologists and longevity researchers across the globe to answer this question. Now, they will provide the practical, proven tools to protect our loyal four-legged friends, interviewing people whose dogs have lived into their twenties – and even their thirties – along the way.

The Forever Dog plan focuses on the latest scientific research surrounding food and nutrition, movement, environmental exposure and stress reduction, from the pros and cons of various types of pet food – including what commercial manufacturers don’t want us to know – to the role our own lifestyles and vets’ choices play.

This definitive dog-care guide empowers us with the knowledge we need to keep our dogs health and happy for years to come.

We all want the best for our dogs. This book helps dog parents understand how they can postively influence their dog's health and happiness. Some of the suggestions for changes are very simple but also make absolute sense and had me questioning why I hadn't thought about it sooner. There is a lot to take in and the authors are clear that not all of it will be for everyone. However, it certainly encourages you to think more about the choices you make on behalf of your best friend. I would recommend this book to any dog parents.

Eye opening

While I’ve been taking many steps to keep my pooch healthy and happy I gained so much more knowledge from listening to this. I love how guided it is rather than telling you what you MUST do. For someone in the UK it’s very US-centric but it didn’t find this too restrictive. I hope this book reaches all dog owners old and new - I intend to recommend it as much as I can!

Every dog owner needs to read this!

If you’re lucky enough to have a dog. It’s blown my mind but I can’t wait to start putting processes in place so I can give my beautiful Labradors a better chance of a long and healthy, happy life . I’m so grateful this book has been written.

Please read this book ..

makes you think 🤔 especially about plastics and other dangerous materials used for pet bowls and toys etc. feeding a natural diet already but all information is worth revisiting. A future reference book for sure.

Great info

If I said guide, it carries you forward with more and deep information than how to take care of your dog. It was a book that answered many questions in my mind when I approached many things on the market with suspicion and followed my instincts and fed my cats and dogs and researched how to give them a non-toxic long life in my own way. This is perfect guide for everyone who’s searching real answers for their pets z

I already started to implement changes and only hope it’s not too late. Tho i have the hard copy and because I did find the beginning chapters a bit boring… I went to audible and I’m really pleased I did. Thank you for raking the time to share this information and to empower people like myself… now I need to find the ‘longevity junkies’ here in Portugal :/

Really insightful
