Summary

A cozy whodunit with a twist

Will Scarlet be able to piece together clues to solve the murder before it‘s too late? Or will she find herself playing a dangerous game with a killer? When a bad case of writer‘s block prevents Scarlet Lane from wrapping up a successful detective series, she agrees to take a weekend trip to the mountains with her best friend, Quinn, to partake in an interactive game of murder. When they arrive at the secluded retreat of Mystery Ridge Lodge, Scarlet is hopeful that the distraction of vintage costumes and cozy ambiance will inspire her to write a satisfying conclusion.

But when the body discovered turns out to be really dead, the game takes a twisted leap from fiction into reality.

Meanwhile, as the guests discuss motives, means, and alibis, fingers soon point to Scarlet when they discover she’d been seen running from the scene of the crime. Suddenly, she realizes that to clear her name, she must team up with Quinn and put her investigative skills into action (which, up to this point, had only been used for solving mysteries in crime novels).

Join Scarlet and Quinn as they try to smoke out the killer in this twisty adventure…with an ending you won’t see coming.

Great mystery

What is a mystery writer to do when she has writers block. Go on an murder mystery weekend .Scarlet Lane and Quinn are in for a big surprise when the mystery begins. I love this story and the characters involved. I hope there will be more books in this series.

game

Loved the narration of Lauren Pedersen, who brings the drama of this whodunnit mystery alive to your ears.

What does a mystery writer with writers block do. Scarlet goes to a murder mystery weekend. Which turns out more than a mystery weekend, every one was expecting.
Great characters, twist and a turn that will have wanting to know who and why. A great whodunnit.

Slow burner but good classic crime story

I don't normally read what i determine light crime books as I write in the serial killer genre. However this really surprised me. The first few chapters give a good background and set the scene. Initially I thought this was a bit too much background, but after knowing the full story it was needed.
It's a really good old fashioned crime story but that's not to say it's not original. I think this is very well written and some clever twists keep the reader/listener entertained. For me a very good book and one I would have bought. I was given this for free but it is an honest review.

Full of twists

I absolutely loved this! It’s full of twists and everytime I was sure of what will happen next, I was later proven wrong. I did receive this for free, but I’d happily buy it!

Just loved it

This was such a fun listen, so well narrated and written. It was just a nice clean cosy murder mystery entwined within a murder mystery. I just couldn't help but keep listening as I wanted to know how it ended (which was a complete surprise)
Looking forward to more

Whodunnit!

This is a very good old fashioned Whodunnit. A murder mystery weekend that turned out to be more than anyone expected. Well written with some great characters it kept me on the edge of my seat until the totally unexpected twist at the end. Lauren Pedersen's narration was excellent and full of drama. Highly Recommended.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this voluntary review.

No. Just no.

Narrator was okay but the story? Jesus Christ, no. I would leave more details but I don't like leaving spoilers and, in my disdain, I may just spoil the whole mess.
