About this listen

Sweeping and evocative, The Hidden Girl is a lost treasure from the author of The Seven Sisters series, Lucinda Riley. Discover this reimagined novel from an author loved by millions of fans worldwide.

You can’t alter destiny . . .

Born and raised in a small village on the Yorkshire moors, Leah Thompson grows more beautiful with each passing day. When she catches the attention of the influential, troubled Delancey family, she knows her life will never be the same again.

Years later, Leah takes the modelling world by storm, travelling from Milan to London and New York and living life in the lap of luxury. But her past follows her like a dark shadow, mysteriously intertwined with the tragic tale of two young siblings in Poland during the Second World War.

As two generations of secrets threaten to explode, Leah is haunted by a fatal, forgotten prophecy from her past, and must fight to challenge the destiny that has been mapped out for her in the stars . . .

Long before she became the bestselling author of The Seven Sisters series, Lucinda Riley wrote Hidden Beauty as Lucinda Edmonds. This standalone novel has been reworked and given new life as The Hidden Girl by Harry Whittaker, Lucinda’s son and co-author of Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt.

A wonderful story which is difficult to press pause on.

As always Lucinda Riley spellbinds us with her story through time. The gripping tale of love, despair, hate and cruelty. I enjoyed every minute of this book. Thank you

Interesting story beautifully read and equally as good as all of the previous Lucinda Riley novels.

Another Lucinda classic

Yet again, Lucinda (with Harry’s help) has pulled it out of the bag. A classic blend of historical events with a more recent twist. I always get lost in Lucinda Reilly’s books.

the intricate weaving of lives past and present

With excellent narration and a fascinating acount of lives both during 2nd world War and thereafter, this a a truly fascinating and somewhat heartbreaking story. The character were solidly created into people I found that I cared about. The only criticism I have is the authors focus on the importance of being slim, young and attractive. That is not how I would measure a person's worth, but then, it's not my story.

Amazing Lucinda Riley as always

I loved the way the gentle Leah came through all the different stages in her life! Harrowing at time but loved every minute and the reading voice was superb!
