Summary
In this steamy tale by USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn, an American searching for her purpose escapes to a Scottish town but finds more questions than answers when she meets a brooding yet handsome handyman.
Freshly fired from her third job in a row, Bonnie St. James has lost her way. So when she and her best friend stumble upon a “help wanted” post to run a coffee shop in the Scottish Highlands, they apply on a whim. Who knows? Maybe traveling to a new place is just what she needs to figure out her next move.
When the friends arrive in the tiny idyllic town of Corsekelly, they instantly fall for the gorgeous Highland landscape and friendly townspeople. But Bonnie finds a less-than-warm welcome in Rowan MacGregor, the rugged local handyman. Busy wrestling his own demons, Rowan’s in no mood to deal with the quirky American - even if she is a bonny lass.
As Bonnie and Rowan’s paths inevitably cross, insults - and sparks - fly. Can the pair build on their similarities to help each other find purpose and direction...and maybe romance too? Or will their passionate tempers fling them apart?

Disappointing
I’m normally a huge fan of Meghan Quinn audios, sadly this didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The written story was probably really great, I loved the synopsis. The story was fun and flirty, I did however struggle with the narration, I wasn’t a fan of either narrator for this story. Great voices just very badly cast (in my opinion).

Absolutely hideous narration
Can’t get through it. It’s plain irritating. Why give the lesbian character a voice like a pubescent teenage boy. Awful.

Great book overall!
Loved the story!
Although I absolutely love th Scottish accent, the missing star is only due to a few misread of some of the emotions portrayed in some of the lines.

I love this author
I have listened to many of Ms Quinn's books and have enjoyed them all. I think the narrator's did a great job with the differentiation of their voices for the various characters and their Scottish accents.

Great story
Really enjoyed the story, narrators are very robotic however particularly the man's voice but I'm glad I persevered.

The accents lets this down
I’ve read the book and like the story so was excited to find it on Audible. As someone who has a good ear, the narration for me was a huge let down. The female lead was good, though the voice for her BFF sounded like a moody lad. Her Scottish accent was either hit or miss, but luckily more often a hit. The male lead - great voice but a terrible Scots brogue-it faltered often & was quite jarring/robotic sounding for me.

Cute and fun listen
A cute listen set in the Highlands with some Americans 'invading' and finding themselves. Baking, kilts, hikes and coffee shops ensued with romance. It took a sad turn towards the latter quarter but it was really well written and eeked a tear or two out unexpectedly.
Narration wise, this was good with dual POV apart from the male narrator doing the female dialogue that sounded a little robotic.

Great story
Really enjoyed the story but the Scottish narration was just awful in some parts. Will definitely read more by this author but I’ll stick to the kindle or physical copies I think.
