About this listen
A rollicking good romance set in 1685 in Cromwell's tumultuous days with pirates, brigands, roundheads, parliament, fantasy, romance, castles, moats, the occult, sorcery, and more in play that should bring more men in as listeners, as women have been for decades. The author was the leading British play lyricist for 50 years, with 80 plays, which underscores the quality of his writing in this, his only book.

The worst reading I have ever heard
I commend the gentleman for reading such a curiosity, but anyone considering buying this, should hear a sample, then find the book: whether from age, lack of experience in reading aloud, or simply lack of practice, it is hard to comprehend the story as Mr Brown stumbles over the words, has no sense of the rhythm of the language, reads in a monotone without expression, and underneath is an interminable and completely irrelevant musical dirge. I cannot truly rate the story as the reading was so bad I had trouble understanding it!
