About this listen

"To call this only a 'reading' of the classic Sherlock Holmes story would be to devalue the beauty of the performance. Although you may have heard recordings of the Sherlock Holmes work before with distance and haughty affectation, none of that is present in Mr. Davies storytelling performance. This features one man, many voices and a hefty portion of talent. This performance is fresh, approachable and inviting." ( Storyteller.net Review)

Critic reviews

"The most incredible one-person audio you have heard. Has to be heard to be believed. David Ian Davies creates theatre in a book." (Charles Prepolec, one of the most respected Sherlockians)

This is only a comment on the reading of the book. I was lured by the description of the publisher but must disagree strongly with their comments. I thought it was the poorest narration that I have heard. When it was only Holmes and Watson it was acceptable but the other characters left so much to be desired that I found it aggravating and at times almost funny. I would much rather hear the more traditional narrations. In future I will always listen to the excerpt before purchasing.
