Peter Ritchie is just an ordinary solicitor with an ordinary (if slightly shambolic) life, until the day his client, a male prostitute called Bobby Black, dies suddenly when a kinky trick goes wrong. Bobby has been brutally murdered, and someone had tried to cover it up. But who, and why?

Peter cannot rest until he knows the truth. And so begins a roller-coaster ride for him and his on-off girlfriend Naomi that will see him pitted against some powerful enemies, and everyone he ever knew or cared for is in mortal danger.

Set in 1990s London at the peak of Blair Brittania, Peter is forced to turn detective in order to find Bobby Black’s killer, and he has to break all the rules to do it. Forced to go on the run, a desperate Peter plays a terrifying game of cat and mouse to the bitter and surprising end.

Having already read both parts of this brilliant book series on the Kindle I wanted to see if the Audio book brought anything to the party.
I was not disappointed the narration is great and really builds on the tension throughout the story. It was well paced and timed and even though I had already read the books. You really do root for Peter Ritchie and his terrifying journey into a dangerous world.I am ordering part two of the Audio book as we speak.

Was lucky to get a free download of part 1, and maybe because I’ve just been spoilt as finished a book by Stephen king, but the narration on this in my opinion was poor. Sadly no change to the monotone of the narrator, no change in voice when characters change. Felt the story was well written and kept me interested, however if it was not for the storyline I would have given up 10 minutes in!
I will get part 2, as I said, story is good and I want to know what happens to the judge, I will just have to put up with the narration.

The hours flew by. A masterclass in storytelling.. the plot builds seamlessly, the characters are intriguing and believable. Cannot wait for the concluding part.
Excellent narration from Jonathan Brenner.

This was very easy on the ear and the narrator had a very authentic way of reading this book. He built enough tension during the parts that needed it and his voice was quite a joy to listen to. . A great storyline too. I am looking forward to the audio of Part 2.
