I read a child called it a while back and remembered how poignant but well written it was. so of course I had to hear more and journey with David. I'm grateful he chose to tell his story, it's a very important perspective to have such insight into. its raw real and believable. with that said I feel the narrator lacks in vulnerability in some areas where its needed to be communicated more

David Peltzer tells his story with such courage. I’m aware of course of the world of fostering but it’s not a world I have any experience of. David’s story fills me with awe and admiration for children who come through this, and for adults who become foster parents. This is a story of triumph against all odds, and leaves me feeling truly humbled

Hard to listen at some parts. Such a compelling story. I have worked in the world of social care for a number of years and this is just so reflective, such an incredible insight into how children who have been abused feel not only during their abuse but the aftermath and recovery they go through. The book is so well written and read, makes you feel like you’re the one experiencing the same things. Thank you David Pelzer.
