Summary
Lucius, King of the Mermen, and ruler of the city of Atlantes, shoulders the guilt for his people’s curse. After being trapped under the sea for two millennia, the time has come for his people to possibly surface and breathe air. He’s ready to be the first to test the theory, but things do not go as expected when a captivating beauty seemingly falls into his lap - and his ocean.
Is Olivette a present from the gods, or a warning to stay punished beneath the waves where his people belong?

A Perfect Ending to A Great Series
A fitting end to a great series which has been an unusual genre for me to read - with Mer folk in it! King Lucius finally finds his mate in a very strong woman, Olivette. I found her attitude to life, and bad things happening, turning into something good, to be of particular relevance to me and struck a cord. Such wonderful characters and a wonderful world. Loved it!

Thoroughly enjoyable
Lovely story of hope and survival of the mermen and women. The book was well written and the narrator was concise and clear. I really enjoyed listening to this story. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18.

Olivette and Lucius
This is the sixth and final book in the Lords of the Abyss series about the mermen from the fabled Atlantis aka Atlantes and their journey to finding love and redemption. Although these books are technically standalone stories there is a continuing theme running through all the books and for this reason, I believe they are best listened to in the correct order, otherwise you'll miss some of the continuing story. That said the author does a good job of telling you what you need to know so should you decide to start here you won't be totally lost.
Lucius, The Merman King feels tremendous guilt believing he caused the exile of his people to the bottom of the sea, long ago the Gods exiled Lucius and his people to the bottom of the ocean where they are forced to live under a dome. It is believed that they will burn and die if they go to the surface, but is this true? He decides to go to the surface himself to discover the truth.
His world is now facing the threat of war and a possible redemption if his trip to the surface doesn't kill him, the last thing he expects to find is love. But then he rescues Olivette from drowning....
Olivette worked on a ship, one of the passengers put his hands on her and when she put him in his place he got angry and threw her overboard, she hit her head making her unconscious. She would have drowned if not for Lucius. He can to her rescue when he saw her sinking. He breathed air into her lungs as he took her to the dome. Not surprisingly he finds himself drawn to her, he knows she's his mate. will she accept what that means and be content to live under the sea in Atlantes with him?
The author has left the best 'til last, this book is definitely the best of the series, if you've followed my earlier reviews you'll see I've said that before but then I hadn't listened to this one. I just loved the excitement, upheaval, suspense, humour and romance.
I enjoyed the conclusion of this series. You'll need to download a copy to see if Lucius and Olivette find their HEA because I'm not telling!
The narration by Rebecca Cook is well done although personally, I prefer the narration to be done in duet.

Final book
This last book follows King Lucius when he saves Olivette and tells her she can never go home. The plot from the Olympian mermaid takes effect and Lucius and Olivette have to save their people. Great ending to a series I’ve enjoyed.

Final one in series
Lucius, King of the Mermen, shoulders the guilt for his people’s shapeshifter curse. With a possible cure, he ventures to the surface to test it only to rescue Olivette as she is cast overboard. With the imminent danger of the protective dome collapsing, will the cure work and will the people of Atlantes survive on the surface?
The final book in the series and brings the closure of a fun series to listen to. I enjoyed the characters and story lines, overall a great book.

King finds his HEA at last
Lucius has felt guilt for far longer than you can imagine but is determined to do what he must to save his people. As he was going to the surface, he rescued Olivette and took her home. Well, the shocks started happening then for her but maybe the biggest one of all is when the two fell in love. As they worked towards saving their people, you will find yourself falling for them all over again. Perfect ending to an amazing series.
