About this listen

The kidnapping of a young man on a country road in Oxfordshire is but the first brutal step in a ruthless plan to force the President of the United States out of office. If it succeeds, he will be psychologically and emotionally destroyed. Only one man can stop it - Quinn, the world's foremost Negotiator, who must bargain for the life of an innocent man, unaware that ransom was never the kidnapper's real objective...

The Negotiator unfolds with the spellbinding excitement, unceasing surprise and riveting detail that are the hallmarks of Frederick Forsyth, the master storyteller.

Great yarn

Brilliant plot. credible thought provoking. lots of detail and given the way the world has moved in recent years painfully prophetic.

enjoyable and interesting

a lot of detail at the start made it hard to get into and I suppose it is a little dated but well worth the listen

Pacey thriller

It's an auditory equivalent of a Liam
Neeson fast moving thriller. Lose yourself in the action, the equivative backdrops and the likeable hero.

Listened to this about 25 years ago on cassette tape and was so good I had to listen again. One of the best plot twists ever!

Another gripping tale

Brilliant, as usual from Fred Forsyth, this novel is a real page-turner/ear-bender, involving POTUS’s son, mercenaries, spies, the Russian secret service, the CIA, MI5, twists and turns...

The narrator makes very few pronunciation deviations, but I wish that all narrators would be schooled in the pronunciation of non-English words.

A complex and thrilling read

The breadth of knowledge of politics in the Usa, England and Russia is a background to an astonishing story of intrigue. The lead character Quinn dominates the story of kidnap and betrayal. A great read.
