P.S. From Rascal, the dog: "Why is the dog vs. cat debate even a thing? Dogs love their hoomans more than anything. Cats barely tolerate their peeple, and they like to play scratchy-bleedy games. No, thank you!"

P.P.S. From Morty, the cat: "I won't even touch on that dumb dog's atrocious spelling. Cats are obviously more intelligent and have more discerning tastes than dogs. Silly old dogs will love anyone unconditionally, but you have to earn a cat's love. Cats rule and dogs drool...literally."

Nothing but FUN!!!

If you like furry friends, this book is for you! It's two couples in one, giving us those that love dogs and those that love cats. We start with Lily, who's husband just died. Her neighbor's dog keeps breaking in, and from there we meet Donovan, the Newfoundland puppies and an array of quirky characters. It's a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. Next we have Julia and Derek. These two are centered around kittens, though the story is more about the people. Julia is hard to warm up to, but I think her character is meant to be that way. Derek is sweet and if you love cats, you will love this one. The tie between the two books is connected with Julia and Donovan and gives the combination some cohesiveness. It's a sweet, fun and furry listen.

Audra Cook gives a great performance for this duet. She is very talented, and I love to listen to her. She has a great array of voices, and adds a lot to the stories with her ability to connect to the characters. It was a joy to hear her.

Fun stories! Listen if you like cats and dogs

As an animal lover, I loved these books. Great descriptions that really highlighted the loving nature of our favorite types of pets. I loved Rascal, the dog. Donovan and Lilly are neighbors and Rascal keeps getting them together. Lilly starts being a bit harsh and judgmental but falls in love with the dog (and the man). I loved how the owners of these newfoundlands happily reminisce about the “trouble” Rascal and his brothers and sister get into. It really just kept a smile on my face.

In the second story, Julia was pregnant and recently single. She had a “near-death experience” with Rascal who decided her fried chicken was actually HIS (I love that dog). She was visiting her cousin Donovan who, of course, was connected to Rascal through Lily. I’m not sure why in both stories, the women started off a bit harsh (and Lily's initial appearance in the second book is really inconsistent with how she was even at the end of the first book). Julia also appeared really immature initially and jumped to conclusions often. Regardless, as with the first book, Julia relaxes, falls in love with the Newfoundlands and she and her cats find where they belong, complete with love.

Audra Cook was a good narrator. She had good differentiation of voices and it was easy to tell who was speaking. I liked her pacing and she added humor into her voice that added to the story.

Two light easy stories full of cute cats & dogs

I listened to this on audiobook.

Book one:- This was a light easy listen, very short story, it was okay but I thought it was a little too fast paced/rushed. Too much storyline crammed into a very short book. Think it would have been much better if the story was longer, so as the author could spend more time on the details/events and on developing the characters a bit more.

The fluffy puppies that featured in the story were adorable, I do love a story where animals are featured and have their own individual personalities.

This is book one of a part three series, so I’m going straight into book two.

I thought the narrator did a great job, read all parts/characters well.
