Not quite what I thought it would be. But still a gentle way to introduce philosophy and remember a very close companion of many years. I, personally would have liked to hear more about Brennan but what I have learnt about life and how to live it.

A lovely memoir of the author’s time with a wolf, interspersed with philosophical musings. There were times when the philosophical musings became slightly abstract and tedious but overall, this is a lovely book and there are more than enough wolf anecdotes to keep it interesting.

I love this book. As a former philosophy student I've missed thinking about the big questions in life. This book presents an interesting, funny and accessible story. I can't wait to get hold of Mark Rowlands next book.

I listened to this book over the course of a couple of days and really enjoyed it!
The story is interesting (at times fun, intelligent, sad or thought-provoking) and it is very well expressed. There are a few forays into philosophy which I largely found interesting and worthy of inclusion.
The narration is very good - well-paced and expressive and I found a great fondness for all the main characters, particularly the wolf in question!

I would happily recommend this book.

This book amazed me. I found it touching and humorous, which I expected. I didn't expect to find it so deeply moving and powerful, illuminating aspects of myself and my experience through his exploration of himself, his wolf, and what it means to be either. ..Or both. The narrator does an exceptional job, and I am left feeling like I just had a precious conversation with the author in which he taught me about life and my self.
