Put this on during a school trip with a 5 hour journey - my S2 pupils were enthralled by the story (to my surprise), as was I.

I've been hooked on Carlos Ruiz Zafón since Shadow of the Wind, and this offering didn't disappoint! Great story, huge suspense, fantastically told!

I loved the book and am working through the authors catogue. well narrated, interesting and intriguing

Very amateurish writing eg far too telling. Didn't evoke the period of WWII at all eg many people didn't have telephones, food and clothes was rationed etc. Lighthouses are owned by Trinity House not by individuals and lighthouse keepers are employed by them.
