Lots of exercises to help make real change
I liked that it wasn't just a bunch of theory. It has a ton of practical exercises for self-reflection and actually working through some of this stuff. Plus, there's a downloadable workbook where you can write things down, which I think will be helpful for really digging in.

Written by an experienced psychologist
There are so many books out there written on this subject using AI. Generally they regurgitate the same advice. This book is written by a psychologist who has studied the subject in depth. You can trust what she says and feel her understanding and compassion too. Highly recommended.

Gave Me Tools to Finally Heal
This book helped me understand myself in ways therapy hadn’t fully reached. The exercises were incredibly grounding, and the guidance on attachment styles made me feel seen. I loved how it approached healing with compassion, not judgment. It made big emotions feel manageable, and the workbook section really deepened the experience. If you’ve ever felt stuck in old patterns or struggled to trust in relationships, this book is a beautiful starting point for real, lasting change.

Super helpful!
This audiobook felt like a really gentle and validating guide through stuff I’ve carried for years but didn’t always know how to name. I appreciated how it made big emotional topics like inner child work and attachment styles feel less intimidating and more like something I could actually work on, one step at a time. The exercises were super helpful and didn’t feel overwhelming, and it honestly gave me a lot of hope!

Learning more about myself
I’ve had patterns in my relationships that always made me feel like something was wrong with me, and for the first time, I actually understand where some of that comes from. It made me look at my past in a way that wasn’t harsh or overwhelming—it was gentle, like “yeah, this happened, and here’s how we move forward.” I’ve even started being more patient with myself, which feels huge. It’s like I’m slowly learning how to show up for me, not just other people.

Finally Making Sense of My Patterns
I have been wrongly led to believe I need to identify my attachment style and create solutions accordingly. But I have now learned that you can have many attachment styles, even if one is a little more dominant. This clarified that I needn't pigeonhole one style to define myself.
Listening to this audiobook felt like talking to someone who truly gets it. I've struggled with relationships and emotional shutdowns for years, and this helped me start connecting the dots. The examples made it easier to see where some of my habits came from, and the exercises didn’t feel overwhelming. What stuck with me was how it encouraged self-awareness without blame. It’s not a magic fix, but it gave me tools I can actually use. I’ve started journaling more, and I’m starting to catch myself in old patterns sooner. It’s a solid listen if you’re ready to dig deeper.
