not usually my cup 'o tea, but this book...
...is excellent - I love the main character and his lack of social awareness cues, there are parts which made me laugh out loud... Along with so many others, I would definitely recommend this book, even if outside of your normal sphere of preference...

Great Read
The ending was disappointing but overall great read. I felt hooked instantly, great narration! :)

Very enjoyable

Just lovely
A very well written and narrated story about a very intelligent autistic man's search for a partner. Don knows he is different and as time has gone on, has played to his differences. Don wants a wife so sets about looking for a suitable partner in a scientific way. Rosie is disillusioned about men and is not looking for a husband, she wants to find her biological father as she feels very let down by her step father. This is a love story with a real difference. Don doesn't know what love is, Rosie cannot see that actions speak louder than words. I really enjoyed this book and was so sad when it came to an end. Read this for a good story and an insight in to autism that dispels the myth that people on the autistic spectrum don't have feelings. I will look out for this author again.

Heartwarming, hilarious and bittersweet
Graeme Simsion's protagonist is utterly brilliant, a good look at some of the social anxieties faced by people on the autism spectrum. While some were a little blatantly obvious - repetition and empathy - others were hidden by quirky mannerisms expressed by awkward geneticist Don Tillman. Good at raising awareness on the subject, it makes it understandable to those who have not come across those with these symptoms.
The plot is intriguing right to the end, a mystery wrapped up in a romcom. The narrator is fantastic, putting across the awkwardness of the character. Well worth the hype.

A wonderful story!
Once I started I couldn't stop listening to this masterpiece. The narrator was perfect for the role and I don't think I've heard a better fit of narrator and story. This was heart-warming, funny and intriguing. This is a must listen to book. Do it now!

Recommended
Great fun. Australian narrator is totally appropriate to the story. Don Tillman is the sweetest man in the world. Well paced, good story, great central characters.
Much better than the average debut novel. The overall 5 star mark reflects that whole of it is greater than the sum of its parts.
