I like the narration and the story is interesting with a well rounded , strong female lead character.

Narration was good, story was intriguing although I'm still a bit confused. I enjoyed the characters and the momentum but I feel a bit like I've been to therapy. I think it needs another listen.

An interesting early Nicci French. There were lots of aspects to this that I felt they explore further in later books. I enjoyed following these characters and the structure was interesting and unconventional. A good read, and the narrator did a good job.

I couldn't like the heroine and I didnt like the ending but the writing and plot twists were up to the usual standard.

a little disappointed with the storyline. a bit far fetched. Loved all the other books I've read by Nicci French. So still a big fan of theirs.

not sure if I liked this book or not. I found the character of the Elsie very annoying. I wonder if there will be a sequel to this book?

What a twist! Fing, Danny. How could they, why would they! I really enjoyed this and totally did not see that coming. Feel like I need a follow up book.

I suspect this actual story is quite good. However the narrator read as if she wasn’t really understanding what she was reading. She also slipped in and out of accents often using the wrong one so it was hard to tell who was talking. I found it very difficult to concentrate on what she was saying and to follow the storyline because of the style of her narration which felt actressy and disengaged.
In addition audible are refusing to let me return this book for no good reason. Be warned.

At the beginning it felt like a Police procedural. Then your whisked on emotional rollercoaster. Great Character development even greater story telling. Gentle yet Brutal too!
