About this listen

This novella by three celebrated authors in the science-fiction genre is set between the events of The Legacy of Heorot - which Tom Clancy called "outstanding" - and Beowulf’s Children.

The oldest children of the settlers on Avalon are now in their late teens and want independence from their parents and guardians. And they especially don’t want them around for the initiation ceremony held on Black Ship Island for the younger children just reaching their teens. But when previously unknown creatures make their deadly appearance, things go horribly wrong.

All four books in the series are good. As usual a very realist and consistent universe. A good mixture hard Science Fiction and action. I found a lot of the head-of-chapter biblical quotations a bit irritating and not relevant to the chapter, but what the heck the chapters were good. This relates to the first two books in the series. The narration of all four books was excellent.

Excellent Series

Not a bad story and the the reader is ok but, oh my lord, what on earth are those 'British'(?) accents he is attempting?
Really just stick to American. The attempt at an English (I think) or is it English-cockney accent is even worse than that famous attempt by Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. Truly cringeworthy to listen to.
