wow.. just wow. I can't believe this book doesn't have any reviews. I have rarely been captivated by fictional books, but this one hooked me in and had me in tears. Good job author.

I've read many a book now from Neal Shusterman, and although my expectations grew with each consumed volume, so far none have let me down. The Shadow Club was no exception. The story was exciting and unique, all the characters were relatable, they made believable choices and the wording was spot on given the main audience.

I've read quite a few books in my life and I can tell that only a select few authors can pull off what Neal Shusterman does repeatedly one novel after another, precisely matching his style and presentation to the target audience, and doing so with fluidity and ease and without being condescending or overly simplistic (limiting the vocabulary is not the same as being overly simplistic). This is perfectly true for The Shadow Club as well.

I feel a bit sad that I only got to know Neal Shusterman in my mid 30s, I do enjoy his work profoundly now, but I'm certain that I would have loved reading his novels even more as a kid. My highest recommendation!
