Absolutely brilliant!

I read these books to my son when he was young and we loved them all!

First off, I highly recommend you get the Unabridged version rather than the Abridged version. It's a fantastic story and for some of it to be edited out is a horrible thought. With a great reader and storyline this book take you into a world of Boggarts, Witches and Ghasts. If you want something to pass the time, something as good as Twilight or Harry Potter or just a great listen then this is the thing for you. I didn't find it that scary, but some parts are a bit gory. I would recommend this to someone over the age of eight.

fantastic listen

Although I very much enjoyed the narrator for this book I was upset that they changed it in the next book. however the third book onwards has the same narrator which in my opinion is the best one.

Read as a kid

I read these as a kid, as the came out, but being dyslexic I missed some. Brilliant stories though. On to the 2nd.

Such a great, spooky story

I really enjoyed this. Very easy to listen to and genuinely creepy in places. Definitely recommend that you give this a go.

Excellent reading of the Spook’s Apprentice

As a long time lover of The Wardstone and Starblade Chronicles I decided to give the audiobook a try so I could immerse myself in the world I love so much while being able to do other tasks at the same time - something that is pretty much impossible when reading a physical book. I was not disappointed! Jamie Glover does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life and I'm looking forward to listening to The Spook's Curse next!

Forgot how good this series of books are

I used to read the series of books as a child and now picking them up as a young adult entertainment is still there and the story is just as vivid and capturing

Good introduction

sets up a tiny part of the world which kind of draws you in.
A good short book that is relaxing to listen to.
The narrator didn't really do voices but he spoke clearly and had a good voice.

As good as the first time I heard it

Jamie Glover does an excellent job bringing the characters to life. The story is great for young and older folks, and it’s fun trying to recognise the places that are referenced for people who live in the UK. I listened to the audiobook in school where I first heard of the series. I’ve met the author and he’s lovely, and I’ve read everything he’s written. Thoroughly enjoyable, for all ages.
