About this listen

When her husband dies in a tragic accident, Antoinette's world falls apart. He was her rock and the man she thought she knew better than she knew herself. But as she arrives at the church for George's funeral, she sees an unfamiliar woman. Phaedra loved George too, and could not bear to stay away from his funeral. As she sits before his wife, she knows that what she is about to reveal will change their lives forever….

A great plot

Overall The Summer House was a good plot and well delivered and Santa Montefiore never fails in intrigue. However, I did find this book rather slow and kept wanting it to speed up as it was rather obvious but took quite a time to get there.

Sorry to leave the characters

A lovely easy listen . Just nice to relax without having to think too much ! Despite this the story had twists which kept the interest . Perhaps a little rushed at the end but nice listen nevertheless. Was sorry to say goodbye to the family ... could there be Frampton sequel 😃

Voices

The character's voices weren't great. David and Margaret sounded the same. it would have been better to have different readers for different characters.

Disappointing

Found it protracted and predictable.
Earlier stories were more to my liking. Narration irritating ,strident occasionaly.

Rather disappointed

The story was good.
For the first time in my Audible life I found the recording poor.
There were periods of silence at the end a or beginning of chapters and each chapter began in the middle of a sentence.
I also did not like the narrators voice interpretations.

A great....

storyline with some lovely characters and antics within the book. The narrator was good at using different voices for the characters.
