About this listen

This is a guide to a life well-lived. It is about the wonder of the everyday and the lessons that age brings.

Wear stripes. Eat chocolate. Don't leave empty-handed.

But also embrace change, let go of what doesn't matter and take care of something or someone other than yourself.

The Swedish Art of Ageing Well is a gentle and welcome reminder that, no matter your age, there are always fresh discoveries ahead and pleasures to be enjoyed every day.

Critic reviews

"A warm, accessible guide to ageing with grace and art (and chocolate). I loved it." (Matt Haig)

Charming and peaceful in a bleak sort of way. Made me rather dread old age, whilst also admiring the author’s phlegmatic approach to her declining years. I found it quite interesting, if a little depressing, but it is an illuminating insight into life and death and overall I’m glad I listened to it.

Interesting insight into old age

After The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning, I moved straight on to this. Equally joyful. Easy, peaceful listen.

interesting biography

I loved the narration and I totally loved the book. Funny and honest. Full of wise words. The older generations are sadly ignored as we rush around our lives. Maybe listen to what they have to say..

Ageing goals!

A cheerful memoir combined with practical suggestions. I also read the Swedish Art of Death Cleaning.

Positive

This is all very sensible advice - the sort of thing that is obvious when pointed out, but which you might not consciously focus on otherwise. Has encouraged me to recommence decluttering! Narrator’s voice is very suitable for the content.

Thoroughly good advice
