Sara Michaels is the daughter of a prominent senator who has just announced his candidacy for President of the United States - the same senator who has been receiving death threats against his family.

Sara Michaels is also the owner of a self-help clinic and is hell-bent - despite the FBI's warnings - on leading a group of 10 women on a two-week sojourn through the Rocky Mountains.

In an effort to protect Sara, the FBI recruits homicide detective Jaime Hutchinson to infiltrate the group and secretly provide the protection they are so certain Sara will need. After some clever maneuvering, Jaime finds herself welcomed by the 10 conservative women - who soon begin playing matchmaker with Sara and Jaime.

But then Jaime is reminded of the reason that she has joined this group of women when she's forced to lead them out of the mountains and away from a sniper's bullets. Will Sara finally figure out who is behind the death threats? And will Jaime realize the truth - and be able to save Sara before it's too late?

This was a nail-biting read, the pace never letting-up for a moment. As for the narration, Abby Craden delivers a masterclass in storytelling. The Hill/ Craden combo is unparalleled. This is one I'll revisit for sure.

Typically excellent quality from Gerri Hill and from Abby Craden. These two go so well together. Think Kurt and Courtney, or Laverne and Shirley. Or Lenny and Squiggy.

WOW! I love the way Gerri writes. Her characters and storylines are so believeable. When Jamie gets the group of women to strip and jump into the hot spring but Sara is too embaressed to, you know that she will sucseed at some point.

A joy to read had me guessing all the way to the end.I love Gerri hill the writing of first class.It is one I will read over and over again.

A tense romantic thriller. A detective is sent into the mountains to protect a senators daughter and develops a romantic attachment. I liked this one, well written with great characters with some good chemistry. A plot has been done before and the culprit was fairly easy to work out but an excellent read. Abby Craden does a fine job with the narration

After usa elections 2024, this becomes relevant.
president elect ashamed of his child, she has her own successful business estranged from her father. on a camping trip, a female cop joins the daughter and her clients undercover as protection.
First half is entertaining and funny, then hell is let loose, as a hit man tries to kill the daughter, and a false fbi agent kidnaps her.
liked it a lot, and the narration is excellent.

Really enjoyed this story, the characters, how it plays out BUT and I won't spoil it for you that have not read it, BUT how did they attach the >>>>> to her >>>? How did they get to it?
