FIRST LET US JUST SAY: Your child is amazing, and YOU'VE DONE AN AMAZING JOB. Parenthood is tough!

Written by a mother and Registered Nurse, this book is about giving our teens the tools to achieve their UNIQUE BEST.

Specifically written with today’s busy teens in mind, The Teen Life Skills and Mindset Handbook is engaging and relatable offering practical advice through myth-busting, actionable steps, and storytelling of the author's personal experiences of love, loss, and close encounters to reinforce the lessons.

Here’s a glimpse of what your teen will discover inside:

  • Time Management: Learn to prioritize what they must do WITHOUT sacrificing what they want to do or who they want to become
  • Financial Literacy: Learn the key terms and players. Tap into the secret that will change how they view and spend money
  • Communication Skills: Speak confidently and see others and connect with anyone and everyone like never before (pun intended, as you will discover inside)

AND…

  • Handling medical Emergencies and First Aid: Learn WHAT TO DO and HOW TO DO IT from a real NYC hospital nurse who has worked in the Medical, Surgical, Labor and Delivery, and Emergency floors!
  • Relationships, Love, and Heartbreak: Fall head over heels for the first time, set and enforce boundaries, love courageously, heal patiently, and come out smarter, stronger, and more resilient than ever imagined

...and so much more.

We know you’ve been burned before. But this book is far from the boring, generic, and textbook-like stuff that your teen detests.

I got this book for my daughter because I wanted her to have real-life skills and a strong mindset, not just school lessons. It covers everything from time management to confidence, in a way that’s simple and clear for teens to actually use. She started listening on her own and even brought up parts of it at dinner so I knew it was making an impact.

I got this for my younger cousin, and we ended up reading parts of it together. It covers everything I wish I had learned in school—basic money skills, time management, even mindset stuff. It’s written in a way that’s easy to relate to without being preachy. He actually started applying some of it right away, especially around planning his week and saving money. If you know a teen figuring out life, this is a great gift.

Ms Lei has included all the things teens encounter but aren't always prepared for. Maybe their parents taught them some of it, but it was in one ear and out the other (pretty much what many teens do when parents are teaching life things). Or perhaps they figured they'll address things as they come up. (Though, for me and my brothers, we were into things LONG before my parents ever knew.)
This is information young people can learn on their own time, and it doesn't sound like an adult preaching or lecturing. There are chapters on communication skills, college and careers, legal basics, and even street smarts. It's a wonderful resource!

I honestly wish I had this when I was younger. I grabbed it to share with my teen, but I ended up listening to it first—and wow. It covers real stuff that actually matters but in a way that’s super easy to follow. My teen has already started trying a few of the time and money tips. It’s relatable, practical, and surprisingly fun to listen to. Total win for both of us.

Trying to find a gift for my 13-year-old niece that won't be met with a world-weary sigh is a challenge I was not prepared for. I stumbled upon this audiobook and figured it was worth a shot. I'm so glad I did. As a former middle school teacher, I know how fast teens can tune out anything that sounds like a lecture, but this book is different. The author, being an RN, gives the practical advice—especially the first-aid stuff—a level of real-world credibility that's hard to ignore, and she tells stories about her own life that make the lessons stick. Courtney Pinkerton's narration is pitch-perfect; she sounds less like an authority figure and more like a cool, relatable mentor you'd actually want to listen to. It hits on everything from managing money to navigating that first major heartbreak, all without an ounce of condescension. This is a fantastic listen for any teen or tween who is quietly trying to figure it all out.

It covers everything, how to manage time, handle money, build confidence, and stay mentally strong without sounding preachy. He actually wanted to keep reading it, which says a lot. It’s packed with useful advice that feels real and relevant. If you want to help a teen step into adulthood with clarity and confidence, this book is a resource.
