About this listen
The White Lich has fallen.
The remnants of his army have fled into the forests. It should be a time of celebration. But as Dante regroups his people, the Angel of Taim arrives with a message.
They may have defeated the lich, but Taim is still going to destroy the mortal world of Rale.
Facing starvation in the dead of winter, Dante leads his people toward the abundant fields of Gallador Rift. Along the way, though, a horrifying illness breaks out among the travelers. As earthquakes rattle the land and volcanic eruptions black out the sky, it becomes clear that the plague was only the first attack launched against Rale. Their only hope is to travel back to the Realm of the Gods and try to bargain with them - and if that fails, to wage war on them. But the only known doorway to the Realm is hundreds of miles away. In the throes of collapse, flooded with monsters from hell’s darkest depths, the entire world might be torn apart before Dante and Blays have the chance to start fighting back.

Entertaining as always
The characters are great and remain the lynchpin to these stories. As a Galand follower the battle scenes are a bit long and repetitive after 9 books but still really well written and you still end wanting more. TGR is a brilliant performer as ever...

True to form. Excellent
As a follower of the complete serious I’m a massive fan . The story was up there except I felt it finished abruptly and felt a bit short changed if honest . I know it’s set up for the next book but dissatisfied with the ending .
TGB brilliant as ever rock on for book 8 then !

Great as Usual!
I didn't think this was as amazing as previous books in the series bit it was still great. I found it very short though. Highly recommend Dante and Blaze to everyone!

It feels like the series has ran out of steam
The start of this was fairly interesting, as was the end. But the copy and paste middle section of 'go to this part of the world, get someone to trust you and do an impossible thing' multiple times just made this feel very long and as though the series is either running on empty, or has just flat-out stalled.
It literally felt like the same story was being told over and over in the middle of this book.
