About this listen

Christmas: a time for family and festivity. Unless you’re in Adder’s Fork, home of the Essex Witch Museum, where it’s a time for ghostly spirits and demonic visits.

In these 12 short stories, menacing ghosts and supernatural terrors haunt Rosie Strange and Sam Stone, as well as characters past and present from beyond the Essex Witch Museum. Featuring stories from The Strange Casebook as well as original short stories.

I thoroughly enjoyed everyone of these deliciously spooky short stories...just right for a chilly winters afternoon sitting, listening by the fire, with a large glass of port ..my husband should have added to the atmos by smoking a pipe and donning tartan slippers but seeing as we like neither he went for the P G Tips in a tartan cup !! Actually we both enjoyed the stories ...there’s one about a Russian blue cat ...we didn’t know whether to laugh or cry !!!...the book is a perfect gift for Christmas 😀😀 if someone wants something tingly in their stocking ..

Lots more from Ms Moore

I loved this book as with all the Essex Witch Museum books Julia Barrie reads excellently, she really makes you believe more than one person is reading to you so brings the story to life.
I haven't given a full 5* rating as I have heard some of the stories in a previous collection (The Strange Casebook) having said that it was good to listen to them again.
I can't wait for the next one.

Amazing as always

I have read all the Strange novels, but not the other short story collection so was rather pleased this included the stories from the other collection. They are a mixed bag of subjects but all are creepy in their own way. Some clearly borrow from other stories but give them the twist of being based in the world in which the Essex Witch Museum resides. As always, extremely well written and read.

Strange days indeed

Several of the stories are rehashed from a previous audiobook. I was disappointed that they weren’t all new stories

Not value for money

I really enjoy this series. This collection of short stories are a mixed bag and are all really good. However, if you have already purchased Strange Casebook, you will discover that the stories from there are also in this collection which left me feeling a bit cheated. Around half of this is new material well up to Syd Moore's usual standard. Excellent performance and stories but only three stars overall because of the duplicates.

Includes Strange Casebook stories

I didn’t know what to expect but I wasn’t disappointed. The stories had a twist to them and were good .

short stories some of which are copied directly from previous books, and some are just plain boring
cheap way of generating money
won't be buying any more of this author's offerings

don't bother

Too many of these stories are straight from the Strange Casebook. You’re buying a whole book for just a couple of short stories.

If you have A Strange Casebook you won’t need this
