A perfect era mystery
I love all things Victorian. This book is a fun mystery about Dorothy Arnold, who goes missing in 1910. The author puts you in 1910 with great period research. I loved the angle of this story as it follows a cold case-type feel. This true crime investigation into one of history's unsolved mysteries is captivating, so much so that I found it impossible to turn off my audible app and ended up staying up late. The mystery has so many layers and the speculation as to what actually happened is compelling. I am looking forward to future books in this new series.

History meets mystery
I had this playing while working from home, and it totally pulled me in. Dorothy Arnold’s disappearance is like something out of a true crime show, but with all the drama of high-society life in the 1900s. The mix of historical details and different theories kept me hooked, and the narrator’s tone made it easy to stay engaged. I also liked how it showed how much detective work has changed since then. totally hooked
This audiobook pulled me in right away with its mix of intrigue and history. Dorothy Arnold's disappearance feels like something out of a movie, but it's real, and that's what kept me hooked. I found myself googling more about her while listening because I couldn't get enough. If you're into mysteries that aren’t overly dramatized but still give you chills, this is for you. I finished it in two days and now can’t wait for the next in the series

Crazy good!
I just finished this one and simply can't stop thinking about it. It dove into the mysterious case of Dorothy Arnold, a young socialite who vanished without a trace in 1910. It combines historical details with a suspenseful tone. The narration was great, made it easy to follow along even as the twists kept piling up! I loved how it explored different theories about her disappearance without feeling repetitive...definitely had me hooked until the very end. If you're a fan of true crime and unsolved mysteries, this one is haunting and fascinating. Totally worth a listen!

A socialite’s disappearance still haunts history
Dorothy Arnold's is a story that's as baffling as it is tragic. In one moment, she was an aspiring writer with dreams, and in the next, she vanished, leaving nothing but questions behind. What most struck me was how fast the media frenzy grasped onto it and how very much her case reflected the inflexible expectations thrust upon women at that time. A great mix between historical details and thrilling storytelling-in one word: audible for each true crime enthusiast. I loved it.
