About this listen
There are some things you can never leave behind… Kate Forrest is invisible...her husband doesn’t seem to know she’s alive and her two children have become stroppy adolescents. With her 40th birthday approaching, Kate walks out of her life, and gets on a plane to Italy. With no responsibilities, she soon finds herself caught up in the arms of a man half her age. But eventually Kate will be forced to choose between her past and the future.

Would you listen to The Wife Who Ran Away again? Why?
No, but I never listen to any book twiceHow would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
The ending was too contrivedWas this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, but it was one I did not mind coming back toA disappointing end

Ned (every child's pet donkey) is pathetic and cruel. The awesome children turn into a awful brats.
Could only listen to this in hour segments, such was the trauma bound up in the so horrible comedy of a trip along the Appian Way, one crucifixion at a time.
Every woman has the right to a second chance, but with a different man. Wish I hadn't chosen this book.
A HORROR SHOW

Bloody brilliant

It was gripping and well structured;
however one of the characters', miraculous transformation into a decent and responsible person, as well as the surprising ending, were just not quite right with me.
The crude sex scene at the beginning , may suggest that the author didn't quite know where to take this book or how it would play out , at first.
It (the book) turned out alright, but if you make one of your main characters so despicable and totally unlikeable , don't expect readers to change their mind and suddenly warm to them at the last minute.
Great performance by all the narrators.
a mixed bag
