About this listen

No class? No problem. (Well… actually, lots of problems.)

Ben Ashwood is losing at life—big time. Broke, single, and stuck with the world’s worst boss, he’s just about given up. But when his overenthusiastic best friend hands him a golden ticket—a chance to enter the most advanced VR game ever created—he hesitates. Because knowing Ben’s luck, even fantasy worlds won’t cut him a break.

And he’s right.

Stranded in a brutal world without a starting class, Ben must rely on his wits alone to survive relentless undead, dim-witted hill giants, and one massive jerk of a Bloodknight. The game is stacked against him, the system is unforgiving, and worst of all? He’s already made enemies.

Can Ben outsmart the game and carve his own path, or is he doomed to be just another noob stuck in the cycle of respawns?

When Ben Ashwood enters the most advanced VR game ever created, he quickly learns that being classless isn’t just a disadvantage—it’s a death sentence. Hunted by ruthless players, unstoppable guilds, and forces that bend reality itself, Ben must outthink, outfight, and outmaneuver an entire world set against him. But as he unravels the game’s deepest secrets, one truth becomes clear: this isn’t just a game anymore. If he fails, everyone loses.

I'm always a bit wary when I hear that the author is the narrator, but this was done really well. fun book. it wasn't too complicated but worked well for litRPG. I'll read the next one.

Fun book, I liked the narration.

A really interesting story using some of the most interesting magic I've encountered in a story in ages. I also particularly enjoyed how much the NPC's seemed to dislike the players

Excellent Magic

MC is a good guy with his heart in the right place, his friend can be…, let's just say I shuddered a little bit when chatting up the receptionist 😂. there's lots of potential for character growth and Eddie upcoming books. the author has a good imagination and the story is always interesting, the characters are all distinguishable which always makes it easy to follow along, and I've heard some bad the author and narrator are one and the same, and you can tell it's his first narration but this does smooth out as the story goes on, so I'm not going to fault him for it and he should be proud of his accomplishment. interested to see what happens next.

Quite the ending

I was pleasantly surprised by this as I could not get into any previous litrpg stories. This was also the first story I have listened to as read by the author and he did a very respectable job. I will continue with this story. Well Done.

Well paced and thoroughly enjoyable

this is not my typical read and/or listen but I liked that the author was also the narrator. This is good for all ages as I did listen to it with my nephew (which insisted that I didn't listen to it without him,)
