About this listen
A Waterstones Book of the Year
A fascinating new book charting the life and career of Sex Pistols legend Glen Matlock through the lens of his most formative songs - from the ones that influenced him as a child to the ones he wrote and played on as a star.
Sharing insider tales of the Sex Pistols' earliest gigs and stormiest reunions, as well as their most idiosyncratic inter-band dynamics, Triggers offers a vivid insight into the ultimate icons of punk. Yet, having performed and recorded with so many musical luminaries over the decades, Glen also reflects on his time with the likes of Iggy Pop, David Bowie, the Faces, Blondie, Primal Scream and many more.
This is the story of an outspoken, uncompromising man and remarkable, game-changing musician.

Witty and interesting book telling g his story of life in the music business from the 70’s to the present day.
Just love Glen’s storytelling. I can’t believe how many bands he’s played in and what an eclectic life in the music industry. Without doubt one of the coolest guys in the business and someone I would love to have round my dinner table. I have a massive long list of new bands to listen to….. thanks Glen for telling your life story. You should do a radio show.

Enjoyable addition to the Pistols saga
I've read John and Steve's books, so it's interesting to get the version of the story from the real musical force behind the band (although it was the magical alchemy of the combination of elements that made them). I could've done with some more personal anecdotes from Glen, such as his relationship history which goes totally unmentioned. It's also unfortunate that Glen has a slightly mushmouthed vocal delivery which sometimes make it difficult to understand what he says, but these are minor gripes. Overall, a good read (or listen).

LEGEND!!!!!!!
Went to see Glen play at The Hug And Pint pub in Glasgow last December and thought he was BRILLIANT
I bought this book at the Merchandise stall after the show and Glen signed it for me and we chatted for a couple of minutes
Great Guy
We’re going to see Glen again this December when he’s playing a full band show rather than solo
As for the book, Glen tells it as a real “Sliding Doors” story about having to go up to London to buy a pair of shoes he was after and ended up getting a job the same day, meeting Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood, how the Pistols got started, where it all went tits up and how he ended up playing with Iggy Pop, Blondie, Rich Kids & The Goombay Dance Band (that last ones still waiting verification 🤣)
This is one of,if not, THE best audiobook I’ve listened to!!!!!
KEEP IT UP GLEN
YOU’RE THE MAN
