Excellent story and narration spoiled a little by technical quality

As usual from both author and narrator an excellent story. This was a little marred by the sound variations. Only to be expected. I suppose owing to the age of the recording and the fact that it was probably recorded on tape which stretches and degrades. However with modern technology it should not be beyond Audible/Bolinda to improve this audiobook since they are charging for it.
Although I thought I knew the Dick Francis books this one was new to me but still very engrossing

A brilliant twisting together of two stories

It is a shame that the producers can't be bothered to sort out the sound quality yet again.

Not the best

Usually a fabulous winning team- Francis and Britten, but not this time. The story is not up to the expected standard and the editing is dreadful. It sounds as though sections have been done in totally different conditions and a couple of them just don’t sound like Tony Britten at all.

Two stories in one, cleverly knitted together

A thoroughly enjoyable book with two related stories sharing a common theme but from very different perspectives. The "East Middlesex Comprehensive School" in Part One more meets the description of a public school or certainly that is the feel. This apart the stories seem to stand up to scrutiny. Tony Britton reads superbly and lends authenticity to the audiobook.

Sound

Narration quality was varied. Difference marked and spoiled story. An enjoyable story but not one to recommend.

Great story

One of my favourites from Dick Francis. Narration recording a bit wonky, but don't let that put you off.
