About this listen
An enemies-to-lovers spicy romance set in the world of video gaming from the bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis—available only in audio!
Viola Bowen has the chance of a lifetime: to design a video game based on her all-time favorite book series. The only problem? Her co-lead is Jesse F-ing Andrews, a.k.a. her arch-nemesis. Jesse has made it abundantly clear over the years that he wants nothing to do with her–and Viola has no idea why.
When their bosses insist a wintery retreat is the perfect team-building exercise, Viola can’t think of anything worse. Being freezing cold in a remote mountain lodge knowing Jesse is right next door? No, thank you.
But as the snow piles on, Viola discovers there’s more to Jesse than she knew, and heat builds in more ways than one.

classic Hazelwood
I loved this audiobook, the themes and plot are classic Hazelwood. The characters were great and their story was brilliant. The way she weaves in elements about video games is subtle and not overwhelming for a non gamer. I like how she puts women in male dominated fields and uses it lightly so it never becomes preachy
The narration is good but sometimes a little slow and drawl-y.
All in all great but too short! it's more of a novella than a full length novel.

TOO SHORT
Ali, I’ve never read a shorter book from you! I needed MORE. We love a respectful man! Loved Jessie even though he’s a **ssy

Storylines are all very similar
I feel that the storylines are all very very similar despite the different industry-sectors. It’s always the FMC who doesn’t know the guy is madly in love with her, despite it being pretty blatant.
Wouldn’t mind a change in script.

liked it - but didn't love it
More of a long shortstory, than a true novel. The plotline is good, but everything went a little too fast...not really an enemy to lover kind of book. But it is a good read.
The narrator was ok. She did a good job, but her drawl on almost every ending on every sentence drove me crazy...

Did not disappoint!
Ok so, it's a formula that Ali had already used in previous books so, in many ways, it's not a new story. However, Ali's so good at conveying the emotions of her characters and has a witty sense of humour so I just loved this one! Listened to it pretty much in a oner and loved Jesse and Viola 💖 I also think Kelsey did a great job at narrating this novella, I just felt like I was there with the characters as they were speaking!

Ali Hazelwood always gets it right
The chemistry between the main characters is palpable, and the tension keeps us hooked from start to finish. Her signature blend of humor, science, and heartfelt emotion shines throughout the story. The audiobook narration is great and brings the characters to life, adding personality to each scene. Cozy, fast-paced, and perfect for anyone who loves a clever and charming romance.

Lovely story, terrible narrator
This is the exact reason I don't do audio books. The narrator added an incredibly annoying vocal fry to the end of every single sentence, making it very frustrating to listen to. It also did not match the tone I have in my head when reading Ali's books.
If you manage to suffer through it however it's a very cute story, typical Ali really, if a bit short. However it absolutely isn't enemies to lovers, contemporary cannot do that trope.

Enjoyable story, terrible narrator
I really liked the story of this book, and the characters were great, unfortunately the narrator ruined it though. She has an obnoxiously annoying voice that really grated on me, as did her pronunciation and way of speaking.
