About this listen
A charged lesbian romantic suspense set in the early nineties, with gripping twists, turns, and surprising secrets.
A mission gone wrong leads to rising-star CIA operative Annie Weaver quitting her job and reinventing herself as a college student. But the CIA, desperate for her skills, refuses to let her go without a price.
Annie finds herself juggling classes in criminology and falling for her beautiful landlord, Professor Helen Everton, while dealing with off-the-books secret missions for an increasingly controlling ex-boss.
As the perceptive Helen circles ever closer to the truth, Annie has to figure out how to keep her freedom without putting Helen in danger—and without revealing her own past.
Contains mature themes.

Two is a Pattern...
Two is a Pattern is really good ! I hesitated giving 'it' 5 stars across the board but decided despite one or two 'niggles' I enjoyed it so much !
The 'niggles' are subjective and should you give this audiobook a go, you can decide !
AW is a top notch narrator, one of the best around in this genre and she brings the two MC's to life.
I did find the 'sudden ending' unsatisfactory and I am surprised the author did not treat the listener/reader better.
'Honey in the Marrow' by the same author is one of my go to favourites so keep that in mind 😉

Exquisite, yet again
Beautifully written, gripping, and with characters that I immediately fell in love with. Emily's storytelling is woven with a little bit of magic. I feel like I'm under a spell when I listen, especially with Anastasia Watley's dulcet tones bringing everything to life. My main complaint is that I have to wait for the next part of Helen and Annie's story, because I'm gripped! This, and Honey in the Marrow are two of my favourite romance books. ❤️
