About this listen

Do you want a thriller that grips from the first line?

Do you want a thriller to leave you gasping for air?

Connor Laird frightens people: he's intense, he's fearless, and he seems to be willing to do anything to protect himself and those he loves. He arrives in the Longacre Children's Home seemingly from nowhere, and instantly becomes hero and villain to every other child there.

Thirty years later, someone is killing all of those who grew up in the Longacre, one at a time. Each of them has secrets, not least investigating cop DI Ray Drake.

One by one the mysteries of the past are revealed as Drake finds himself in a race against time before the killer gets to him.

Who is killing to hide their secret?

And can YOU guess the ending?

Engaging read full of twists and turns

I couldn’t stop listening to this, brilliantly narrated and full of twists that kept me guessing. The characters are portrayed with depth and nuance and the plot was compelling. Will definitely be listening to more in the series and was great as a free listen from the Plus Catalogue.

Very twisty

Cleverly written and brilliantly narrated. I really enjoyed this audiobook. The characters have great depth which added to my enjoyment. The author takes you on a journey through the past in order to solve a murder in the present.

Brutally brilliant 👏

Couldn't stop listening until the end. The narrator deserves an Audible Oscar. Looking forward to my next Hill listen.

So many questions. Bring on the sequel!

disturbing and abhorrent leaving so many questions. we know the protagonist but should we support him or is he the dark at the heart of this? there are compelling characters and fascinating plotlines and we just want to know what happens next. Trust no one.
