I'm back to loving the series. I loved Theo's story but want a big fan of Luka or verakko. Dell's hea was a journey, and I felt for him often. Vanessa was a bonafide b!tch for about 60% of the story. I felt like sl@pping her hard, !any times. Still, after a lot of drama, angst, tension and some action all works out well.
The spice was uh la la HOT 🔥🔥🔥🌶🌶🌶.
I also love all the science fiction stuff here, the world building is perfection 👌 this time around most of it takes place between a spaceship and space stations, we all see more interesting and peculiar looking aliens too (even if just side characters).
I got the audio book as well and the narration was excellent but it would have been better if it was a duet.
I'm happy Fejo for his happy ending and Vanessa managed to redeem herself. Now I want to know what happened to Maleke.

Great installment to the series
Book 5 of the Clecanian series follows Fejo our resident sexy space pirate & Vanessa a human woman who is desperate to get back to Earth to her dying sister. Fejo is a hopeless romantic underneath all his flashy clothes and bravado but unfortunately for him Clecanian women have only ever gone as far as testing him during the marriage selection process and he has never been chosen as a husband because of his job. Vanessa is in need of a ship to get her off planet in the hopes of getting back to Earth so choosing Fejo as her husband is her only option. Once on board plans go awry and Vanessa is forced to come clean to Fejo about why she chose him, they slowly start to feel more for each other and the sexual tension between them is palpable and when they eventually get there... damn Fejo, we appreciate your dedication to the cause. 👀🔥
I really enjoyed this one, I liked that majority of the book takes place away from Clecania itself as we got to experience different kinds of aliens and it gave the main characters opportunities to have different experiences than MCs from previous books and it's pretty action packed towards the end. Vanessa does come across as selfish in places and there were times she would be mad with Fejo and frankly had no right to be which I found grating. Stephen Dexter narrates this as he has with all the previous books of the series and once again I throughly enjoyed his performance. 🌶🌶.5
