About this listen
What's going on?
Turn on the television.
What channel?
Any channel.
An unknown vessel, not of this world, materialises in London. A colossal figure towering over the city, it makes no move. Is this a peaceful first contact or the prelude to an invasion? Every child has nightmares. But the only thing scarier than little Eva Reyes' dreams - apocalyptic visions of death and destruction - is the habit they have of coming true....
Scientist Dr Rose Franklin has no memory of the last few years. The strangers she works with say she died and was brought back to life. The question is not just how...but why?
Kara Resnik and Vincent Couture fell in love during war and have found peace since. They are the thin line of defence against what is coming. But they do not know they have been living a lie. And a man who claims to have the answers has his own agenda. There are things he cannot say - and others he won't.
All pieces of an epic puzzle. One we have been trying to solve since the dawn of time....
Full cast of narrators includes Roy McMillan, Sarah Wells, Karina Fernandez and Madeleine Rose.

Great listen...
I left a decent review for the first book, though looking back I think I was a little harsh. This is a great series and this second book doesn't disappoint. Great story. Listened to all 9hours in a day! Bring on no. 3!

Great story and performance but...
I really enjoyed this and can't wait for the next in the series. However, performance had to lose a star for me because of Eva. The actor sounded nothing like a 10 year old and was incredibly irritating.

Compelling sequel, though a bit heavy handed
I loved the first book and by all accounts this was a great sequel, I finished it across 3 days which is a complement coming from me! Some have said it suffered from "difficult second book syndrome" but for the most part I had no problem with the story, it was enjoyable and kept me guessing through to its conclusion.
The only issue for me was the occasional cheesy or over dramatic dialogue and decisions of some characters (Kara & Vincent, I'm looking at you) which took me out of the story to either cringe a little or scratch my head at their choices. In some cases it was forgivable, in others it didn't "fit" for me... but hey, it kept it unpredictable.

WOW. BEST BOOK EVER. Amazing performance
This book reminds me of war of the worlds. It's so fantastic but with real scientific theory that's taught me more than I ever knew about dna. Amazing. Can't rave enough about this. Thank you!!!

A bit of a disappointment
I love the Themis files idea and the way the story is delivered is absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately, I found this chapter to be a bit of a disappointment. The ending felt rushed and none of the new characters that were introduced felt complete and well rounded. It all falls a bit flat in my opinion.
Personally, I think the book should have ended after book 2. A bit more of an ambiguous ending open to interpretation would have felt right for this type of story.

Fabulous adaptation
All voice actors in this are excellent - gripping story with action, comedy and pathos.

A great follow up!
I loved the thread of this story weaving through reports, documents and interviews.
It felt like reading in 3D, hearing the same story from different view points on the same timeline is a work of genius.
A very nice touch.

great sequel
a great continuation of the first book, some of the larger main story questions answered with a number of further questions left open-ended. a few genuine emotional moments where I was shocked and upset for some of the characters. Ends on a satisfying cliffhanger, kind of disappointed I finished it so fast because I want more!
the voice actors are fantastic, especially the meetings with Mr Burns and his funny little stories.
