About this listen
Everyone has secrets but some are bigger than others.
Wendy Walker can count on two fingers the number of birthdays until she's fifty. She can also count on six hands the number of years she's been married to controlling Derek. Whatever happened to the boy she used to lark around with in the back of a Ford Escort? Just like Derek's hairline, that lad has gone.
Wendy yearns for freedom but is resigned to her lot. After all, there are others to think about. Like daughter Ruby who – as a teenage single mom still at home – needs supporting, especially since abandoning her hopes of being on Love Island and achieving fame as a reality star.
But secrets dare to spill at the most inopportune moments.
Ruby is nurturing a mystery romance that she frets about her mother discovering, while Derek finds himself under the spotlight in the most disastrous of circumstances.
But just when Wendy thinks her world is falling apart, she discovers that sometimes unexpected joy is just around life's corner…

Lovely Christmas In July Listen! 3 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love Debbie Viggiano books and I love the festive season, so this for me was a wonderful listen.
I am so relieved that Wendy didn't have to put up with her Vile, Misogynistic husband for very much longer. I love a good festive romcom and this didn't disappoint although at times t felt frustrated and was shouting at the book 😂
The story was good and I enjoyed the main character Wendy, she had a great sense of humour along with her feisty teenage daughter Ruby and her cute, sweet adorable 2 yr old granddaughter 'Moonbean Fairy' the only problem with the book was it was too short and It had ended, when there was so much more to say.
Also they mention characters from Debbie's other books which is a really nice believable touch. The narrator Eilidh Beaton did her job very well and matched the character of Wendy brilliantly.
I used a credit up on this book and I am happy I did because I love Chicklit, romcom they are pure escapism. Yes I do recommend this listen 🌠
