About this listen
Why is one of the shortest words, "no", also one of the most difficult to say, and why is saying "yes" so much easier than saying "no"?
If you are one of the countless numbers of people who say yes when they really want to say no, or those that feel guilty saying no and find saying yes a whole lot easier, then this book is for you.
Inside this book, you will discover:
- The top telltale signs of a people pleaser and why if you are guilty of this, it's a habit that can be damaging for you and others
- Six quick tips aimed at helping you set healthy boundaries, taking the stress out of saying no
- The difference between a "good" and "bad" no (not all nos are the same)
- Tactics to help you transition your "yeses" into "nos"
- That there is no reason to feel guilty for saying no; a no to someone else is a yes to yourself
- 16 simple yet effective ways to say no without always using the word "no", whether this be to parents, partners, children, friends, or work colleagues
- Situations in which you should always say no
- And much more, written in an easy-to-understand style with plenty of examples
When No Just Rolls Off Your Tongue is for anyone who wants to learn some simple and easy ways to transform their yes' into nos without feeling guilty, stressed, or anxious. It helps you take your power back, making your yeses more meaningful both for you and those receiving them.

I’m what is often referred to as an ‘extroverted introvert’ which means I’m usually misunderstood. I’m not shy or antisocial, but being sociable, talking to people, SERIOUSLY drains my batteries. I need a long time alone afterwards to rest and recuperate before I can go out again, or I make myself ill. But because the person who stays home, grows vegetables, sews, and reads books doesn’t get seen (only the sociable me gets seen) people assume I’m lying when I say I’m an introvert and need a lot of alone time. I’ve even had people shout at me down the phone for saying no, which has led me to say yes on many occasions I don’t want to. It eventually leads to exhaustion.
This book is short in a good way … no waffle, no padding, straight to the point with clear tips on how to be okay with ‘no’ within yourself (most important) and then how to say it nicely.
Just what I needed!

The narrator, Kenneth Montgomery, also brings an air of soothing professionalism and authority to the book. Which is equal parts is the tough love that people need who are people-pleasers to a fault. But also soothing enough to be listenable and not too harsh.
If we all are able to stand up for ourselves and increase our self-love, it not only helps the people saying 'no', but also the people close to that person, you, because you helped yourself. It can save families, jobs, friendships, and so on.
And this notion, and how this book was excellently executed makes me give this book 5/5 and the author cannot say "no" to it.
