A belter of a listen/read.

I am fast becoming a fan of court room drama. This just helped me along a bit further.
I will never find it comfortable to accuse those in high office but am impressed by the way this story did just that.
I'm not a spoiler so I'm not able to say more, but you will know what I mean once you've read this.
The production was great and my only complaint is that the character of Avery had such a weak voice. It really grated on me. You will no doubt hear it differently, and that is exactly how it should be.
Happy reading/listening.

Gripping thriller

I hugely enjoyed listening to this novel -- it is an interesting political thriller with several twists. Not sure why other comments flagged narration as I thought it was very good.

A rollercoaster ride, full of twists and turns.

Overall, really enjoyable. Lots of intrigue and our intrepid shero is the guide. If I have one gripe, it’s that the prose is sometimes overwritten.

Disappointing narrator

Distracting voice which detracted from the story itself but also didn’t seem to fit some of the characters.

Slow. Yea we but had me hooked.

The book was a slow burner but it had me hooked and I wanted to know how and what and why.
The narrator was great and covered the various accents brilliantly.
The story was a great thriller and worthy of the time spent listening.

Awful narration

Unfortunately I really struggled to listen to this. I had really looked forward to it as the premise sounded so interesting but the narration was awful and so distracting. The voice-over artist seems to miss out the punctuation and as a result sentences don't sound quite right. I had to keep rewinding it to listen again and again. she also has a way of speaking where her voice goes up at the end of a sentence, so it doesn't sound like the end. It is very confusing. I think this is a book best read by yourself.

A smart, well paced thriller.

I wanted a thriller in which women were more than victims as so many crime dramas start with some young helpless woman as a bloodied victim.

this was the perfect antidote. I'll look out for this author in the future.

I disagree with reviewer who disliked the narrator. I thought she was great.

Interesting story but very poorly read.

I almost gave up on this audible book several times because of the poor narration. It’s so poor. You have to keep rewinding to listen again to try to make sense of basic sentences due to the reader’s poor understanding of punctuation. She changes the entire structure of a sentence.

It’s hard to follow and her accents are also poor and incredibly irritating.

This is probably a book you’ll enjoy more if you actually read it yourself rather than listen to it. I really hope audible stops using poor readers.
