About this listen

FROM THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR*, ELSIE SILVER! SET IN THE SAME BELOVED UNIVERSE AS SMASH-HIT SERIES CHESTNUT SPRINGS: SMALL-TOWN, BIG CHARACTERS, FOUR ADDICTIVE LOVE STORIES . . .

MEET THE SINGLE DADS OF ROSE HILL.

----

I'd always dreamed of my wedding day. But not like this. Not looking into the eyes of the man who betrayed me.

But when my nephew's guardianship is contested, I decide I'll do whatever it takes to keep him in Rose Hill. Even if it means marrying the enemy.

Rhys Dupris.

A man who is secretive, broody, and completely infuriating. A man whose work takes him away for weeks on end and brings him back covered in mysterious bruises—ones he won't talk about. In fact, we barely talk at all.

Which would be fine, except when he's not talking, he's staring. And the way he looks at me is borderline indecent.

The tension between us has always been palpable. But living under the same roof is a dangerous temptation.

I swore I would never forgive him. But that was before I knew the man behind the mask. The one who's fierce and protective. The one who's gentle and patient. The one who shows up for us when we need him most.

He's not at all who I thought he was.

And that makes hating my husband so much harder... and loving him just a little too easy.

Elsie perfection again! 💚

Elsie always capture my heart but I lived this one SO much! Being a big WWE fan myself I couldn’t help but love Reese’s pro wrestling career! The narration is this was so good. I love Samantha’s voice and she always manages to bring so much to each character she narrates. Jason Clarke’s raspy, gritty voice is exactly what I pictured for Reese too.

Together they made this a perfect listen. A fantastic plot once again from Elsie!

Oh my heart!❤️

I haven’t read an Elsie Silver book I did not love, but I think Wild Side might just be my favourite! I have devoured this over a day and a half. Rhys and Tabby were such likeable characters and I was rooting for them throughout. Beautifully written (as always by Silver) with perfect narration too. And the spice was 🔥! Can’t wait for her next book!

Exceptional performance by voice actors.

The story was amazingly well written. Elsie Siver is an exceptional writer that draws you into the story without effort. Voice actors did an amazing job and had me laughing and crying with them.

😔

I feel awful writing this review because I really wanted to love this book. I counted down the days for its release, hoping it would be another favorite. But no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t connect with the story or the characters. And I really tried. The tropes are everything I love: enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, small-town romance, forced proximity with the sweetest little boy, Milo, and two broken people finding their way back through love. On paper, it should have been perfect for me, but something just didn’t click. 😔

I did a combination of the audiobook and the ebook, and I was excited to hear Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke as narrators. Their performances were great, but choosing when to use duet narration felt odd. Instead of being a full duet or a traditional dual narration, they only performed together during text message exchanges, making the listening experience inconsistent. Either commit to a full duet or don’t do it at all, because this in-between approach pulled me out of the story more than once. 🤔
