For myself the best Wilke Collins novels were "The moonstone"+ "The woman in White"; these are masterpieces. It's sad to say that strangely for me nothing else achieved the same standard. Everything else seems waterered down in comparison; sometimes seriously so. My advice is to stay clear of the novels. After saying that these short,to be fair,are good. This is aided by them being economical in the telling + not out staying their welcome. Most of His novels are far to long + possibly what could have been reasonable tales become grindingly slow, turgid and ruined as a result. (Reference "Armadale"!)

Excellent 'sensational' style writing, very atmospheric. Each story narrated by someone different which is nice for variety. Very easy to listen to on a short car journey!
