About this listen
"I’m doing just fine on my own. Love is for the weak."
When Grayson Barker lost his leg during his last deployment with the Marines, he might as well have lost his life. He’s gone aimless and bitter, and even though he knows his friends and family are just trying to help, he’d much prefer it if everyone just left him alone to rot. Having PT isn’t going to help him get his life back - even if his therapist does funny things to his libido.
"I keep it casual. Not because I don’t love anyone, but because I do. And those you love always hurt you the most."
Dylan Wexler doesn’t work with vets. He’d spent too long as a child dealing with his father’s PTSD that spiraled into abuse, and while he might be mended physically, the scars his father left behind still cut deeply every day. But having friends means making sacrifices, and when he’s talked into helping Grayson learn to walk with his prosthetic leg, he’s determined to his best work. Even if the man drives him to distraction.
Welcome to Worthington, Texas, where the heat doesn't just rise in the summer - you'll feel it all year long in these stories of older men and their younger lovers. Every audiobook in the Worth It series can be listened to on its own, but with so many familiar characters to love, why stop with just one? This audiobook features a heart of stone, the patience that heals it, and a sensual threat to so many professional ethics.

Brill
I thought this was a brilliant book to listen to as I really enjoyed the journey that both Grayson and Dylan went on after they met each other when Dylan was employed to be his physiotherapist. They broke up after Dylan thought history was repeating itself with how Grayson was acting. Grayson realised he had to be happy in himself and they got back together after some months apart

Better together
I listened to this in one session. I enjoyed it more because of the introduction to Grayson in Book 1 and recognized that he was someone I wanted to know more about. I have a soft spot for stories about veterans and this didn't disappoint. Both main characters have an abundance of strengths, but have their weaknesses too. They fight to overcome these, apart and together, and this makes the book for me (along with the awesome heat between Grayson and Dylan). I am now looking forward to Finn's story after the teaser in this book!
The narration is clear and well paced, and this added greatly to my overall enjoyment of this story. I certainly want to hear more of Nikola Muckajev narrating this series.
