About this listen
An old classic from a Hugo Award Winning author.
With an introductory biography of the late Isaac Asimov, this classic work gets better.
Red and Slim found the two strange little animals the morning after they heard the thunder sounds. They knew that they could never show their new pets to their parents. Enjoy the listen, leave a review and check out our other retro sci-fi books!
Public Domain (P)2020 Jeremiah AdelsonThe story, published in 1952, has aged but the central ideas have not and are as valid today as then. It is a delightful story, and, even knowing the sting in the tail, still enjoyed it immensely: a lot is packed into it's short duration
Youngsters Red and his friend Slim, find a pair of strange looking animals and decide to keep them as pets. They are quite small, fitting into an old bird cage which belonged to Ted's parents. They keep the two new pets secret for fear of being told they can't keep them: Red has visions of using them as an entry to life in a circus.
But their secret is found out by the two dads, who had been waiting to receive visitors ...

It was a pleasure to again revisit one of the old masters of science fiction, well read by Julian Pearson. This was a freely gifted complimentary download from FABC. Thank you.
I never saw anything like it.
