  • Summary

  • After the Fall is a gripping, behind the scenes account of the FBI’s investigation into the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Agents tell how they responded to the crime scenes, uncovered evidence of the “planes operation,” and traveled overseas to investigate leads.

9/11 was the biggest case in FBI history. The bureau’s investigation greatly influenced the War in Afghanistan, led to a rift with the CIA over the use of torture to gather intelligence, and generated thousands of boxes of evidence for the prosecution of terrorism suspects in U.S. courts.

This sweeping true story takes listeners inside the investigation as it unfolds. Agents describe responding to the crime scenes in lower Manhattan, Shanksville, and the Pentagon; working from a makeshift base in a Manhattan parking garage; sorting debris for clues at Fresh Kills landfill on Staten Island; following leads from the U.S. Embassies in Sana’a, Yemen and Islamabad, Pakistan; and working the case at FBI headquarters and the White House.

After the Fall is dedicated to the many victims of the 9/11 attacks, including first responders who suffered from cancer and other illnesses because of their work.

Brings back memories

Was good to hear the before, during and aftermath of 9/11. Was an emotional program but good podcast. Enjoyable but sad.

An interesting listen

A very sad account told well.

I was very moved by the struggles of the agents involved. The difficulties they had getting intel from the CIA was unacceptable.

Scary to think that the tragedy of 9/11 could have possibly been prevented.

I recommend this podcast highly.

A must listen

Factual, informative, compassionate and week written and read. Didn’t want this to end, enjoyed immensely despite obvious harrowing topic. Narration was also fantastic.

A must listen. Fascinating and heart breaking

This is a must listen. It provides really interesting context to 9/11 attack and it isn't just a patriotic romp, it seems fair an balanced. The personal sorties included are so heart-breaking and I was reduced to tears a number of times.

Must Purchase

This must be listened to several times. So upsetting but important. Dion Graham has the perfect tone for the epic production. I would have paid to listen to this.
