Does not disappoint

Everything that you would want from an Agatha Christie - true crime combo. Utterly brilliant.

2 great subjects but not together!

A good listen. 2 different subjects which stood on their own merit and were worth listening to.
But, for me, the attempts to make the 2 subjects run parallel or relate to each other failed miserably.

Enjoyable, Informative

Enjoyed the blend of the real life murder case and learning more about Agatha Christie's life. Balanced mix of interviewees. Enjoy Joes narration, his enthusiasm came through without detracting from the history

Absolutely fascinating

I stumbled upon this. i am an aspiring but stymied writer with an interest in history, crime, and fiction. I found the whole series fascinating, and it was beautifully and cleverly put together, intertwining a real life crime mystery with the real life of such a prolific crime writer. I loved it.

A fascinating story

I listened to Agatha Christie and the Dandelion Poisoner, an eight-part podcast series hosted by Joe Nocera, and I was fascinated by the historical murder case that inspired the queen of crime. The podcast tells the story of Major Herbert Armstrong, who was executed in 1922 for poisoning his wife, but always claimed his innocence. The case caught the attention of Agatha Christie, who used some elements of it in her novels, such as The Mysterious Affair at Styles and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. The podcast combines live investigation, documentary, archive material, and dramatization to bring this 100-year-old mystery to life. It also features interviews with experts, historians, crime writers, and relatives of Christie and Armstrong, who offer different perspectives on the case and its impact on Christie’s career. The podcast is well-produced, engaging, and informative, and it gives a glimpse into the 1920s England where Christie created her iconic characters like Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot. I enjoyed listening to this podcast, but I also felt that some parts were too graphic or sensationalized, especially the descriptions of the autopsy and the execution. I also wished that the podcast explored more of Christie’s works and how they were influenced by other real-life crimes. Overall, I think this podcast is a must-listen for fans of Agatha Christie and true crime, but it is not for the faint-hearted. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.

Amazing Podcast!

Absolutely fantastic! I found this podcast extremely enticing as someone who is both interested in true crime, and an avid Agatha Christie fan. And it is safe to say, this did not disappoint. This podcast laid out all of the facts, whether they supported his innocence or guilt, and let the reader use their “little grey cells” to formulate an opinion for themselves. They cleverly incorporated the exciting tales of Agatha Christie’s life outside of the pages of her novels, which allowed me to get a better sense of her as a writer on a whole.
