In this sermon Pastor David reminds us that that in the end God wins. All things work out according to His plan. And the same unseen God who worked out all the details in Esther’s day, ultimately purposed to send His Son to save sinners.

In chapters 5 to7 we reach the suspenseful climax of the book of Esther as the queen risks her life in hopes of saving her people. Meanwhile tensions rise even higher between Haman and Mordecai, but ultimately God is shown to be the one who’s been working behind-the-scenes and justice is accomplished. In chapters 3 and 4 the great crisis of the book of Esther comes into full view and Queen Esther as persuaded to risk her life to act as mediator in hopes of saving her people. Why is the book of Esther in the Bible? Answer: Because God wanted it in the Bible. It is part of how God reveals Himself to us. The Book of Esther never mentions God yet He is clearly active in every scene of this exciting narrative. This is a true story of the sovereignty of the Unseen God. Even when God seems absent, He is present and is working.

What makes our behavior Christian is that it comes from a desire to glorify God. We are indwell by the Holy Spirit and we certainly don’t want to grieve Him We don’t want the Spirit to be disappointed in us.
