Amanda Shalala is an esteemed sports broadcaster, journalist, and producer for ABC TV Sport.

She has covered four Paralympics including the Winter Games in Sochi and the Olympic Games in London and Paris this year.

Before the Olympics, I caught up with broadcasting great, Gerard Whateley, who had the wonderful job of calling the athletics for Channel Nine,

Gerard did a fabulous job and on our latest episode on Dashing Dan’s Olympic adventures I spoke to him just days after returning from the Games about his experiences and the highlights of which there were many from a world and Australian perspective and it’s all thanks to Aussie Home Loans.

Today’s guest on Dashing Dan’s Olympic Adventures is a current Olympian who has represented Australia at these Olympics in Paris.

She is at her 4th Olympics and is a diver who in Paris finished fifth in the 3-metre synchro swimming with Maddison Keeney, who at the time of recording was in the final of the individual synchro.

Annabelle won bronze in 2016 and was fifth in Tokyo and has also won a gold and 2 silvers at the Commonwealth Games.

My guest today is a former colleague and a great swimming commentator, Gerry Collins, who broadcast the swimming at six Olympic Games from 1988 until 2008 for the ABC.

He saw some of the greatest swimmers ever and races in Olympic History.
